Kent and Marlene have always been known for their boundless generosity and selflessness, even when facing their own challenges. Both deaf, they have recently endured the hardship of losing their jobs. However, instead of focusing on their struggles, they continue to devote their time to uplifting others in need.

One of their regular acts of kindness is spending every Monday cleaning the home of a 97-year-old deaf woman. Their dedication ensures that she lives in a clean, safe environment—a gesture that speaks volumes about their compassionate hearts.

Their former colleagues, who cherished them deeply, often recall how Kent and Marlene fostered inclusivity at work. They patiently taught sign language to anyone willing to learn, creating warm connections with those around them.

Unbeknownst to the couple, their unwavering kindness had caught the attention of a Secret Santa. Nate Eaton, a journalist with East Idaho News, arrived at their home with a camera crew and a sign language interpreter to deliver an incredible surprise.

Marlene and Kent were visibly stunned when Nate revealed the first part of their gift: $1,000 worth of gas gift cards and $2,000 worth of grocery gift cards. But the surprises didn’t stop there. Nate handed Marlene a box containing a check for $2,000 to help with their financial needs.

The couple’s heartfelt gratitude, expressed through smiles and hugs, resonated deeply with everyone who witnessed the moment. Their story is a beautiful reminder that kindness has a ripple effect, inspiring others to pay it forward.
