'A Literal Angel': Retired Fire Captain Saves 6-Year-Old At Movie Theater

Today's good news story comes from Medford, Oregon.
A relaxing family outing at a movie theater quickly turned into a lifesaving mission for retired fire captain Danny Moreno.

Moreno, who has over three decades of experience in fire and EMS services, was enjoying "Moana 2" with his wife and granddaughter when he heard a desperate cry for help: “Does anybody here know CPR?”
A few rows away, 6-year-old Mosaia “Mosie” Hannah had collapsed. She has a heart condition known as Supraventricular Tachycardia (SVT) which can cause sudden and dangerous changes in heart rate.
Mosie’s mother, Allison Hannah, shared that the family’s movie outing was part of a long-awaited gathering of friends and their children. She was arranging seats and snacks for the group when her daughter collapsed without warning.
“We keep an eye on the SVT; it sometimes makes her heart race. Usually, she tells us when it’s happening, but this time, she didn’t say anything,” Hannah told Rogue Valley Times.

Moreno leaped over several rows of seats to reach Mosie.
“I remember he just said, ‘I know what to do. It’s OK,’” Hannah recalled.
Hannah handed her daughter to Moreno, who carried her to the bottom of the stairs and began CPR. Emergency responders arrived shortly after to transport Mosie to the hospital.
Thankfully, Mosie was discharged later that evening without complications.
Hannah expressed her gratitude on social media, which led to the two families meeting for dinner later that week.
“It was terrifying and the worst thing ever, but everything happened so perfectly,” Hannah said. “God, fate, anything you wanna call it, Danny was a literal angel who was in exactly the right place at the right time.”
