Daughter Finds Long-Lost Father In Hospital After Over 20 Years Apart

A touching video has emerged of a woman reuniting with her long-lost father in a Nevada hospital after more than two decades of separation.

Melissa hadn’t seen her father, David, or even known his whereabouts since she was a baby. When a doctor informed Melissa that her father was “near death,” she immediately booked a flight from Florida to Nevada.

Melissa explained that David was in a severe car accident when she was just a baby. The accident left him with serious mental and physical disabilities, leading his family to relinquish him to state care.

Since then, David had spent 46 years moving from one facility to another, with no family contact.

Recently, he had stopped eating altogether, having seemingly lost the will to live—until Melissa came into his life again.

When Melissa entered his hospital room, the moment was bittersweet. Though he suffered from a traumatic brain injury, he never forgot he had a daughter. He immediately recognized her, and his reaction showed the depth of his joy and surprise.

It was as if, in that moment, he had something to live for again.

Melissa recounted how he managed to attempt eating three meals that day, something he hadn’t done in over two weeks.

“It was an incredible feat that only makes me believe he found the will to live after years alone,” she said.

Now, Melissa is determined to make up for lost time. She’s raising funds to bring David to Florida, where he can live out his remaining days with her.

So far, she’s raised over $36,000 to make this dream a reality.
