John Johnson, 60, had booked an Uber for a ride to Dallas' UT Southwestern Medical Center. When his driver, Danny Blanton, 51, picked him up, what started as small talk quickly turned into a moment of joy.
As they exchanged pleasantries, Johnson felt a sense of familiarity.
"What's your name again?" he asked. Blanton replied, "My name is Danny."
That was the spark. Johnson then said, "I think I know you. You don't know me?"
Blanton glanced at the rearview mirror, then turned around to get a better look at his passenger. Recognition dawned on him, and he excitedly slapped hands with Johnson.
