With outside temperatures soaring to an estimated heat index of 98 degrees, the conditions inside the car were dangerously higher. Sgt. Bordin responded to the scene and quickly assessed the dire situation. Hearing the dog's distressing cries, he knew immediate action was necessary.

"I know buddy - I'm gonna get you out of there," Sgt. Bordin assured the anxious dog before breaking a window to free her.

The dog, showing clear signs of heat distress, eagerly drank an entire liter of water once rescued. Afterward, she was taken for a thorough checkup to ensure her well-being. While the dog's owner was located, she remains in the custody of animal services as the investigation continues.
