Deputies Collin Stephenson and Haley Drew swiftly responded to the call, arriving at the scene to find the six-week-old shepherd mix puppies without water or shade.
"I don't know how long they were out. I'm guessing a day or two," Stephenson remarked.
"There were just a bunch of puppies with no water in a field," added Drew, emphasizing the urgency of their rescue.
Moved by the plight of the puppies, Deputy Stephenson decided to adopt one of the little ones himself. The remaining puppies were taken to the Chuck & Brenda Silcox Animal Care & Adoption Center, where they received the care and attention they needed.
