The post was accompanied by heartwarming photos and videos capturing Fiona's joy with her new owner.
Carrie Saskowski, Fiona's new guardian, shared her emotional reaction with WCAX, expressing her deep sadness upon learning of Fiona's lengthy shelter stay.
"I saw her story online and was just so overwhelmed with sadness that she was in the shelter for so long" Saskowski said. "It was just so sad to me, and I thought, oh my gosh, could we have the best life together."
Filled with compassion and a desire to provide Fiona with the love she deserved, Saskowski embraced the opportunity to give Fiona the best life possible. Fiona's new home includes a big yard, dog siblings, owners who plan to give her the best last years of her life.
"We already love her and will take the best care of her," Saskowski shared in an update.
