'I'm The Happiest Man In The World': Former UFC Champ Awakes After Heroic Rescue
March 15, 2024
Today's good news story comes from Toledo, Ohio.
Former UFC Champion Mark Coleman has been fighting for his life after he rescued his parents from a devastating house fire. On Thursday, he called himself "the happiest man in the world" as he embraced members of his family from a hospital bed.

Awakened by his loyal Rottweiler, affectionately known as "Lil Hammer," Mark was confronted with a devastating house fire engulfing his childhood home, where he was visiting his elderly parents. With characteristic courage and selflessness, Mark sprang into action, ensuring the safety of his parents before heroically re-entering the inferno to rescue his beloved pet.
His daughter, Morgan Coleman, had posted that her father went into the burning house several times and was able to bring out his mother and father. Unfortunately, he was unable to find Hammer.
"I swear to God, I'm so lucky," Coleman said in a video posted by his daughter Kenzie. "I can't believe my parents are alive. I had to make a decision. I got out of my room and went to the door and it was already horrible. I couldn't breathe. I almost had to go outside, but I went back and got them. I can't believe it."
Recognizing the immense challenges ahead, a groundswell of support has emerged from the community, eager to stand in solidarity with the Coleman family during this difficult time. A fundraising effort has been launched, with all proceeds directed towards supporting Mark's living expenses and providing assistance to his devoted daughters, who have put their lives on hold to aid in his recovery.
To date, donations have surpassed $92,000.
