February 12, 2024
Today's good news story comes from Benton Harbor, Michigan.
In an extraordinary display of kindness and generosity, a customer left a staggering $10,000 tip for a waitress at the Mason Jar Cafe in Benton Harbor.

The Mason Jar Cafe
The customer, who wishes to remain anonymous, had breakfast at the Mason Jar Cafe after attending a memorial service for a close friend. Upon receiving a $32 check, he left an astonishing $10,000 tip for waitress Linsey Boyd.
Still in shock from the unexpected windfall, Boyd recounted the heartwarming encounter, saying, "I just gave him a hug. He then told me that he had left a memorial of someone very dear to him. And he just wanted to do something really kind and generous in her name."
The man's gesture goes beyond the extraordinary tip; he specifically requested Boyd to share the unexpected fortune with her coworkers, turning the act of kindness into a collective blessing for the entire staff.
For the servers at the Mason Jar Cafe, this unexpected windfall couldn't have come at a better time.
"We're not making as much money as in the summer, but everyone goes through things and I know it's hard sometimes, but you never know what or who is going to bless you," said Ava White, one of the servers who got a portion from the tip.
