Compassionate 8-Year-Old Is Raising Funds To Offer Homeless Individuals A Memorable Day At The State Fair

An 8-year-old is making waves in the community as she takes it upon herself to raise money to help people experiencing homelessness attend the Tulsa State Fair.

With her mother's help, Lyla Thomas has launched Fair Share, a new program that raises money and connects with the city's homeless.
She came up with the idea after she was at a Tulsa parade. She said she saw someone who was homeless not having a good time and it broke her heart. She wants everyone to experience the fun the city offers.
"I thought that they might have a lot of fun at the fair, so, I just thought of that idea and I told my mom and she said 'it's a great idea'," Lyla told FOX23.
With Fair Share, people will be selected by recommendations from organizations that work closely with unhoused individuals. Case workers will also join them during their night at the fair.
