The child's mother said she found the child in the swimming pool and not breathing on Saturday morning, the Macomb County Sheriff's Office reported.

Moments after the call was dispatched, Deputies Potocki and Blount arrived at the scene and performed emergency lifesaving measures.

Noting that time was of the essence, a decision was made to transport the toddler to a local hospital in Deputy Blount's vehicle. Macomb Township Fire personnel rode in the patrol vehicle with the toddler while continuing emergency lifesaving measures. Upon arrival at the hospital, it was reported the toddler was breathing and had a pulse.

"This type of situation is one of the worst a parent can experience," stated Sheriff Wickersham. "The responding Deputies and Fire personnel acted swiftly, ensuring the toddler received lifesaving measures and hospital transportation as quickly as possible. I applaud these public servants for their exceptional efforts."

As of this afternoon, the parents report that the toddler has been released from the hospital and is expected to fully recover.
