Last Friday, an AFD fire engine passed by his home and noticed the elderly man struggling to mow his lawn.
"Yesterday afternoon, our C-shift crew from Engine 6—Lieutenant Matt Avery, Fire Specialist Eric Lupton, and Firefighters Wilson Rivas and Gus Wienhold—happened to pass by this house in south Austin and saw the 95-year-old resident struggling to mow his lawn. They promptly stopped, jumped out of the unit, and gave him a hand, with Firefighter Rivas making quick work of the hilly front yard," the department said.
