Niece, a resident of Spring in the greater Houston area, said she was shopping at H-E-B on a Saturday afternoon when she suddenly felt very fatigued. Between recovering from a cold and being five months pregnant, the shopping trip took a toll on Niece.
"I thought I was going to pass out," the 30-year-old teacher told My San Antonio.
Once she arrived at the cash registers at the store on Rayford Road, Niece says H-E-B attendants noticed her struggling.
"They immediately came to my aid and were willing to help and allow me to rest," she says.
Niece said the employees, with her permission, unloaded her cart, scanned everything, reloaded the cart, and then walked her outside and loaded the groceries into her vehicle.
Recalling the story brought Niece to tears.
"The customer service was exactly what I needed, because I didn't think I was going to make it that day" she says in the video as she wipes away tears.
The grocery retailer responded to Niece's video on TikTok, saying, "We're so touched by your story, Mel! It always amazes us when our Partners go above and beyond for our customers."
