Landscaping Company Surprises Employees With Bonuses Up To $200k
December 16, 2022
A landscaping company that operates in eight states surprised its employees with a total of $28 million in appreciation bonuses.
Ruppert Landscape
Ruppert Landscape says the bonuses went to employees who have been with the company for at least one year.
Excluding the top leadership team, 1,200 employees received bonuses reportedly ranging from $7,000 to $200,000.
"Everyone receiving this bonus was instrumental in helping create the value that we've been able to realize," said CEO Craig Ruppert. "This bonus is money that is well-deserved and a way for us to acknowledge the value of our teams' contributions and the essential role that they will play in our company's future."
Craig Ruppert started the business with a push mower and the use of his parents' garage as a home base in the early 1970s. Within a few years' time, the neighborhood yard business grew, and he was able to expand his services and hire a few employees. Over the past 50 years, the company has grown to more than 2,000 employees.
The company was able to give out the bonuses because of a new partnership with an investment firm.
"It was an unforgettable day this Tuesday as we announced our strategic partnership with Knox Lane and distributed appreciation bonuses to team members across 30 branches," the company said in a Facebook post.
"We can't thank our teams enough for all of the dedication and hard work that has gotten us to where we are today, and we hope that this group will stick around for this exciting new chapter in our company's history!"
