OSU Football Team Lines Up to Hug Local Sports Anchor After Loss of His Daughter
October 1, 2013
10TV sports anchor Dom Tiberi lost his 21-year-old daughter Maria on September 17th, when her car collided with a tractor trailer. Ohio State honored Tiberi and his family with a moment of silence at Ohio Stadium before the Buckeyes took on Florida A&M that weekend.
Tiberi took a short leave from his duties to mourn, and made an emotional return to the air last Thursday. Tiberi, in tears, thanked Urban Meyer and the rest of the Ohio State program the support. On Saturday, Tiberi returned to Ohio Stadium for Ohio State’s game against Wisconsin. After the Buckeyes closed out their first Big Ten win of the year, the entire team stopped to give Dom a hug.
Just got home…. tired but proud of the @OhioStFootball for winning. Talked to so many caring people tonight… lots of hugs. Thank you!!
