Bobby Clayton said he and his two sons, Harvi and Ryder, were purchasing supplies for the Fourth of July at a Walmart in Winston-Salem when a stranger began chatting with them.

"So I feel like I need to share this during the time we are in right now," he wrote in a Facebook post.

"This morning me and my boys went to Wal-Mart. As we was checking out at self check out, this sweet woman started talking to us and she asked if she could buy my kids something.

I responded with 'yes sure'.

She proceeded to let them pick out some candy on the rack and paid for it. Made my kids day.

With that being said, it does not matter what color you are, what gender you are or anything, nothing should stop us from showing people respect and love. This is what it's all about.

With out even having to ask my kids to say thank you, when she handed them the candy, they responded with 'thank you, you made our day'.

So many lack respect this day and time. In my eyes every life matters and nothing will change my mind and heart on that.

To this lady, I want to say thank you again from the bottom of my heart for making my kids smile today and showing them love and respect.

I encourage everyone to try and do one good thing for somebody each and every day."

Clayton shared the joyful encounter in a heartfelt post on a local Facebook group where it has been shared hundreds of times.

"What a wonderful story! God bless this lady for being so kind and thoughtful!" one user commented.

"Amen. What a sweet story. Love the kindness and thoughtfulness of this lady," another replied.
