Kupata - which means "Sausage" in English - went viral on social media after videos surfaced of him acting as a crossing guard for children.

The Adjara Department of Tourism and Resorts recently honored the pup with a "People's Choice" appreciation star.

They also helped build him a small wooden house in the place where he's been living for the last four years.

Unfortunately, stray adoption isn't very common in Georgia. However, the government helps takes care of them. Each dog is tagged and they make sure they get frequent washes and meals.
