Herbert Delaigle, 94, died at 2:20 a.m. on Friday morning. Then 12 hours later, his wife Frances Delaigle, 88, died at 2:20 p.m.

The DeLaigles' love story began nearly 72 years ago, when Hebert took Frances on their first date to the movies.

""Frances worked at a little cafe we had in Waynesboro named White Way Cafe," Herbert said in a 2018 interview. "I kept seeing her going in and out, in and out and I had my eyes set on her. And then I finally got up the nerve to ask her if she would go out with me sometime."

One year later, he asked her to be his wife.

For their 70th anniversary, the couple shared their secret to staying happily married.

"Show your love," Herbert said.

"And be there for each other," Frances added.

The couple is survived by their six children, 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
