'Game of Thrones' Cast Fulfills Hospice Patient's Final Request
May 2, 2019
Cast members of HBO's "Game of Thrones" sent an 88-year-old hospice patient personalized video messages after learning her final wish was to meet the cast.
Claire Walton jokingly told her care team at HopeHealth in Providence, RI, that she wanted to meet the cast of her favorite show before she died. Realizing that was a bit far-fetched, she amended her request, saying she just hoped she could watch the third episode.
Both wishes came true on Sunday when she watched the episode, accompanied by videos of cast members talking to her.
A total of 10 actors, including Liam Cunningham, who plays Ser Davos, sent along good tidings, according to a spokeswoman for HopeHealth, Victoria Vichroski.
Walton passed away Monday afternoon.
