Community Donates Car To Man Who Was Stranded
March 16, 2019
Dozens of people in Albuquerque, NM, pitched in to buy a car for a man in desperate need of medical treatment in Maryland.

Brad Mitzl has a brain tumor and is heading to Johns Hopkins Hospital in Maryland. But his car broke down just outside of Albuquerque.
Mitzl has been living out of his car at a gas station for weeks.
"We've been giving him burritos and things that we sell here," said Leah Lemmon, a clerk at the gas station. "We're trying to keep his spirits up while we plea to the community for help."
After Mitzl was told his car couldn't be repaired, the gas station started collecting donations and launched a GoFundMe page to get Mitzl a car.
They raised more than $3,500.
KOB 4 News was there Thursday as he was sent on his way with donations and a working car.
"Thank you," said Mitzl. "I mean thank you is not even enough. Thank you, New Mexico. I never expected this."
