Lt. Dan Actor Gary Sinise Has Dedicated His Life To Support Veterans. He's Overcome With Emotion By Thank-You Video

February 19, 2019

Gary Sinise, who played Lt. Dan Taylor in Forrest Gump, has dedicated his life to giving back to veterans and their families.

A recent thank-you video from celebrities and veterans brought the actor to tears.

Sinise has spent the last four decades supporting active duty service men and women, veterans, first responders, their families and caregivers, and those in need.

His foundation, Gary Sinise Foundation, raises $30 million a year for veterans.

"Freedom and security are precious gifts that we, as Americans, should never take for granted. We must do all we can to extend our hand in times of need to those who willingly sacrifice each day to provide that freedom and security. While we can never do enough to show gratitude to our nation's defenders, we can always do a little more," Sinise said.

In a video entitled "Grateful Like Gary", celebrities and war heroes came together to pay tribute to Sinise's tireless work for war veterans.

"Completely shocked and speechless by this surprise video," Sinise wrote on his Facebook post with the video (below).
