A photo of Sampson reuniting with his owner at the Chico Airport Animal Shelter was posted on social media by the North Valley Animal Disaster Group.
"The incredible story is that when Samson and his owner were fleeing the fire, Samson suddenly stopped going the direction they were heading, and pulled his owner in a different direction," NVADG wrote on Facebook. "The owner then observed that there were downed power lines in the path they were going to take."
Good boy, Samson!
