An employee at the Raleigh store said an anonymous person purchased $1 million worth of remaining toys to donate to local children.
"Oh wow, that's nice," said Vivian Smith who showed up and found the doors locked with a closed sign on the glass.
"Wow. Awesome," said another customer.
The staff told CBS 17 they will spend their last day boxing up the few toys left to put on a truck for the mystery buyer.
Toys 'R' Us closed all 700 stores in the US on Friday.
