Watch: Hero Police Officer Rescues Toddler Running On Busy Highway

Dramatic video released by the Naperville Police Department in Illinois shows a police officer rescuing a toddler who was running along a busy highway.

The dash cam video shows Sergeant Anthony Mannino pull over immediately and begin to chase down the boy on foot. At one point, a large truck can be seen passing within a few feet of the child at a high rate of speed.

Police said the young boy had "escaped his mother's watchful eye" and was not hurt during the incident.

Sgt. Mannino received the Naperville Police Department's life saving award Thursday because of his heroic act.
