Indian Villagers Rescue A Baby Elephant That Fell Into A 70ft Well

March 27, 2017

In a dramatic rescue operation, a ten-year-old elephant calf was pulled out of a 70-feet deep well, more than 24-hours later it had fallen into it, using ropes and a JCB machine.

The calf was found in a dry but deep well on Tuesday night after a group of forest officials, who were patrolling the area around Govanur village in Tamil Nadu in southern India, heard anguished cries of the animal.

After closely following the source of the sound, they found the calf helplessly stuck in the deep well.
