Heartwarming Video Shows Syrian Refugee Children Tobogganing For The First Time After Moving To Canada

January 22, 2016

Footage has surfaced of a Syrian family tobogganing for the first time after moving to Canada. The video shows the children laughing and smiling as they fly down Armour Hill in Peterborough, Ont.

The video was uploaded to YouTube by David McNab and his wife Kristy Hiltz.

"Snow is a new experience but fun in any language looks the same," McNab wrote. "The kids are amazingly grateful and excited about everything."

David and Kristy sponsored a family of four — a mother and her three children, Ansam,13, Ibrahim,10 and Dalya, who is 9.

The children have neither been to school, nor seen a doctor or dentist in almost two years. Now, they are beginning to dream. Ansam wants to be a dentist. Dalya says she wants to be a police officer when she grows up.

"We can't wait to see them take part in all the things that Canadian kids do," said McNab.
