Work was absolutely whooping my butt for 10 hours straight, I was running on 5 hours of sleep, a close loved one had died, my girlfriend broke up with me and I was stuck in extremely long, dead stopped traffic.

I was barely keeping it together.

The tears were just forming in my eyes and then I had a guy end up road raging at me, screaming at me and insulting me over nothing.

I didn’t have enough energy to even say anything back to him and just tried to zone out after he left.

Right after he left, this nice woman in the lane next to me had her window down and said “you didn’t deserve any of that, sweetheart” and had the most sincere look on her face.

It caught me so off guard i genuinely broke down crying.

How did she know exactly what to say to me when she saw me for 5 seconds and will never see me again? To me it felt like one of those signs when the universe is trying to tell you something. I doubt she will see this but if somehow you do, thank you so much.

You never know how much a simple sentence can mean to someone. Please be nice to people.
