The Little Things Make Such A Big Difference
By a friend • June 20, 2026
I was out of town this past weekend, getting ready for the 9 hour drive home.
Tried to get bottled water out of a vending machine but it didn’t work.
Went to a kiosk in the mall. As I approached, I noticed a sign that said “out of ice - out of pop”. I asked the woman behind the counter if they had bottled water.
She smiled and said, “Yes.” Then I mentioned the faulty vending machine (which would have cost about $2 if it had worked).
I asked for two bottles of water. As she got them she said, “I’m gonna give you two for the price of one. They’re so over priced!”
I thanked her and tipped the maximum amount on the payment screen.
Such a small thing but it really put me in a good mood before the long drive home.
