My dad was at the eye doctor getting his eyes checked, and while waiting to be seen overheard a young woman having a discussion with the optician regarding the glasses she needed versus what insurance would cover (very, very little) and she couldn't afford most of it.

When they called my dad back to see the doctor, he quietly told them to get her everything she needed, and include a spare pair, and tell her to pick out the frames she really wanted.

He asked they not tell her who had done it.

By the time he finished his exam, she was just finishing up and still overwhelmed and crying in disbelief.

He spent his entire career working for OSHA and said good eyesight was too important to cut corners.
