Kindness Is Free In Life. Please Use It To Help Others

By jess • March 27, 2026

I have been sick since Tuesday, causing me to miss work.

I moved out here to a new apartment where I am after surviving homelessness and DV. I head back to work tomorrow and I'm excited, even though it's a two hour walk from me, I'm just trying to continue to pick up the pieces to my life on my own.

I ran into someone who saw me walking to the ER when I was in extremely sick and offered me a ride and he said something that touched my heart.

He said "everyone needs somebody. You can't go through life without help."

And he's right.

I've been in survival mode for so long that I feel as if I have to battle everything on my own. I'm harder on myself because I feel I'm all I have.

So I'm writing this to say, be encouraging to someone. You may be someone's last bit of hope. Everyone needs someone. We are not meant to function on our own in life.

If you could take a second to be kind, be a friend, be a mentor, do it. You could save someone's life or push them to keep going.

Thanks for letting me share.
