A bit of a yarn here.

One of my dogs decided to take on a venomous snake. Several days later, and several thousand in vet bills later, we were finally (hopefully) getting the all clear.

Over the past few days I thought a lot about how heartbreaking it must be for pet owners who just don't have the money to pay for their pet's treatment.

So, here I was waiting at the vet surgery with my dog when gentleman who was probably about my age came out of a consult with his cat, in a very rickety cat box, he was in tears. He was obviously concerned for his pet but also upset and anxious about how he was going to pay the bill. Yep, I did it. I paid his bill for him. Stupid? Maybe. By this stage everyone was crying.

If he gets to spend more precious time with his pet, it was worth it. After all, we can't take it with us. Just don't tell my husband!
