My Grandpa Felt Lonely After My Grandma Passed. I Bought A Second PS3 Now We Play Minecraft Every Night
By A Friend • October 28, 2025
My grandpa has been really lost since my grandma died last year and it also affected me in a really bad way. He lives alone and i could tell he was super lonely, he would just sit and watch old tv shows all day.
I was at his house playing minecraft on my old ps3 a few months ago and he just sat and watched me for like an hour. He finally asked "what are you building? it looks peaceful."
So I bought a second ps3 for 10 dollars, set it up on his TV, and got him his own copy. Started a shared world to teach him the basics (on peaceful mode of course lol)
It's been three months. He has built a 3 story house for his 10 (and growing) tamed dogs. He texts me pics of the "cool diamonds" he found and his little farm of carrots and potatoes he started. He calls me his "mining expert" haha.
Tonight we were just finishing the roof on our new storage building and he quietly said "I really look forward to this." And my heart dropped It's honestly the best feeling in the world.
So, yeah. 10/10 recommend getting your grandparents/parents into gaming.
