A Random Stranger Gave Me A $100 Bill And Disappeared
By A Friend • April 24, 2025
I (44 Female) went out to eat for lunch with my son, DIL and grandbaby on Saturday. We'd finished our food and we're just sitting around talking. My back was to the room so I didn't see this guy coming. He walked up to my table, laid down a folded $100 bill and said quickly, "Here I wanted you to have this." And literally ran away.
I spun around and yelled "What?! Wait!!" But he didn't slow down, he speed walked away. I thought for a second, maybe it's one of those trick bills, where you unfold it and it says Jesus saves! Or something similar. So I looked at the bill, unfolded it, and sure enough, it was a real $100 bill. I got up to go try and find the guy to say.... something, thank you, why did you do this, something, and the guy was GONE.
Maybe unrelated but I think not: I'm on the process of moving and my family are may so me and most are not speaking to me right now. It's a whole complicated story -- they essentially want to see me along better, as long as I'm not doing better without them, or better than them. They claim they helped me so much over the years and it's wrong if he to move out/away without repaying them.
I'm not a super religious person, but I believe in God and I've been praying. Lord, if I'm truly wrong for moving, please let me know. If not, if this is the right thing FOR ME, I'm going to need some help so I don't fall flat on my face and lose everything once I get moved out. Help me manage my finances responsibly so I don't end up homeless, because of some disaster strikes....I have no family to call on for help. They'll all be rooting for me to fail.
So I don't know if this was a sign, of this random guy was just being nice, or a combo of both.
Either way, it absolutely made my day. I bought some much needed things for the new place. We need to much -- but that helped so tremendously. I have no furniture, no dishes, only a couple of beds and a couple of TVs. So thank you, random stranger.
