Two Angels

By A Friend • March 21, 2025

A bit of a back story but here goes...

My beautiful mum, who has dementia, but still lives independently (those who have been through this know how stubborn they are!) had a heart attack last week. She had been in bed for at least 24 hours before her neighbour found her. This beautiful woman climbed in through the window and saved my mums life. She called the ambulance and gave mum water and called me while they waited for the paramedics to arrive.

She is angel number one.

I have visited my mum every day since and spent the day with her. I live a long distance away so it’s a lot of driving each day, and having my own health issues is taking its toll on me and today I’m struggling. As I was leaving the hospital (which absolutely breaks my heart to leave my dear mother alone) I was crying and trying to be strong. I was trying to pay for the parking (which is ridiculously expensive) and I had no money and my card declined. I was about to have a panic attack and I was very upset when a lovely man behind me asked me if the machine was broken and I told him that it wasn’t, but I I couldn’t pay for the parking. He offered to pay for my ticket and I was so upset and embarrassed that I couldn’t find the words to say how much I appreciated it. I didn’t want to tell him what I was going through but he was angel number two.

So two people who are total strangers to me have helped me. I’m always the first person to help others and I always find a way to pay it forward and today it was me who needed help.

So if you are reading this, please know how much stress you have saved me from. The lady who saved my mum has stayed in touch with me and I will continue to keep her updated about mum, but I am so grateful to the man who paid for my parking fee today.

Life is kicking me pretty hard right now but knowing that those wonderful people are still out there makes it all worth the struggle.

What goes around comes around, and today it came around.

Be kind always and you will be treated with kindness in return.

Much love x
