If I Make You Happy And Smile, Take Me Home, I Am Yours
By A Friend • February 15, 2025
I was having a bit of a rough time a few years back. During a particularly very long and crappy day, at the end of another 16 hour shift, I found a little crocheted wormy friend on a shelf with a similar note. Sadly, the creator didn't leave any information of where to post anything, just said "post on social" (I think they were new to the idea and still workshopping the notes).
All I know is that my little wurmy buddy is awesome, made me smile, and is still on my keychain to this day.
This act of Wurmy goodness also helped reignite my hope for fellow hoomans. After that day, even during our toughest financial times, our family makes sure to donate and help those in need. Whether it's giving a little money to charity, donating goods to Goodwill, food to the food banks, passing waters out during heat-waves, and much more.
Our kids have definitely taken a liking to helping others. Even our youngest in 1st grade would get toys for Christmas, then turn around and talk about donating some of his other toys, saying "I got new ones. I like all my toys, but some other kid might not have got a toy for Christmas, so donate some of my old ones."
Wurmy's mom, wherever you are, you are amazing.
