While leaving a shop I overhead a conversation between a staff member and a lady who was looking to enter the store with her black Labrador. The staff member was apologising that the dog was not permitted to enter ( it wasn't a support dog).

The lady turned to leave. I called out to her to wait and offered to dog-sit while she shopped.

She was surprised, and half jokingly asked if I was going to steal her dog? I assured her I was a fellow pet lover.

I then spent a lovely 10 minutes getting to know Baxter while his owner did her shopping
