It all started at a gas station when a stranger pulled up beside her and repeatedly pleaded with her to take his kitten.
At first, she was understandably hesitant.
"It was one of those 'don't get into a stranger's car even if they have candy or puppies' situations," she wrote.
But within moments, she realized the man wasn't trying to scam her or ask for anything unusual. He was simply desperate to find someone who would give the little kitten a safe home.
Feeling that she couldn't turn him away, she accepted the tiny passenger.
"Somehow he stumbled into the perfect girl for the job," she wrote. "Third cat to find me in an odd, but beautiful way."
She took the kitten home, gave it a warm bath, plenty of food, lots of cuddles, and made plans to visit the veterinarian the very next day.

The story became even more touching after she discovered the cardboard box the kitten had been riding in.
Scrawled across the side in handwritten marker were the words:
"Free babby kettin."
She admitted she hadn't noticed the writing until she arrived home.
"I didn't know the box had writing on it until I got home, which made my heart hurt even more," she later shared. "He was desperate, it seems. Feeling lucky he found me."
She believes the man had likely been asking others for help inside the gas station before spotting her at a nearby pump.
Their interaction was brief, but unforgettable.

After the story spread online, thousands of people celebrated the kitten's happy ending. Many suggested she return to the gas station with photos and an update in case the man ever comes back.
She loved the idea.
The woman also thanked everyone for their kindness, saying she had read every comment and was overwhelmed by the support.
"Babby is such a happy kitty knowing you all love and care so much."

As for Babby, the tiny kitten went from sitting alone in a cardboard box at a gas station to finding a loving home with someone who already has a rescued crew waiting to welcome another member.
Sometimes, a chance encounter can change a life.
And in this case, it changed two.
