Cat Named ‘Cheddar Big Booty Cheeseburger’ Wins National Contest

April 25, 2026

A chunky orange cat from Arkansas has officially won the 2026 “Wackiest Cat Name” contest hosted by Nationwide pet insurance, beating out a hilarious lineup of furry competitors with names like “Munchie McPurryToes,” “Orange Julius Caesar Salad,” and “Goofus McDoof Business Horse.”

According to his owner, Chantalece Singkhek, the legendary feline started out as one of two orange kittens from a stray cat she rescued.

“He was one of two orange kittens in a litter of a stray I took in,” she explained. “This tiny little kitten grew into a sturdy unit of a cat so when I would grab him, it was like picking up a triple stacked cheeseburger.”

That alone could have earned him a memorable name.

But then came the “Big Booty” part.

Singkhek says the orange fluffball developed a very specific obsession: butt scratches.

“He started to develop this habit of, ‘I love having my butt scratched,’” she said. “He would present his butt, and it got to a point you could do bongo drums.”

Naturally, she felt he had earned an upgraded title.

Thus, the world was introduced to Cheddar Big Booty Cheeseburger.

As if the cat competition wasn’t entertaining enough, the winning dog name was equally ridiculous. A dog named Internet Browser took home the canine crown.

Owner Shannon explained the inspiration behind the tech-themed name.

“She has distinct eyebrows,” Shannon said. “Her nickname is ‘I-browse’ — pronounced ‘eyebrows’ — which is short for Internet Browser. When she’s confused, we say she’s still buffering.”
