‘Heavily Intoxicated’ Raccoon Passes Out In Liquor Store Bathroom After Breaking In
December 3, 2025
Black Friday usually brings chaos, but an ABC Store in Virginia never expected this kind of shopper.
Early Saturday morning, Officer Martin was called to the scene of what sounded like a classic holiday weekend break-in: shelves knocked over, bottles disturbed, a trail of evidence leading straight to the bathroom.
But instead of a criminal mastermind… she found a very drunk raccoon.

Hanover County Animal Protection and Shelter
Yes. A raccoon. Passed out. In the bathroom. After what appears to have been one of the wildest solo parties in ABC Store history.
Store staff believe the furry little bandit somehow snuck inside overnight, helped himself to the merchandise, and then crashed from what can only be described as a liquor-fueled bender.
By the time Officer Martin arrived, the culprit was sleeping it off like a college freshman after their first frat party.

Thankfully, he was totally fine — no injuries, just terrible judgment and what was likely a ruthless hangover. Officer Martin scooped up the wobbly suspect, transported him to the shelter to sober up, and let him sleep it off before releasing him back into the wild to rethink his life choices.
"He was safely released back to the wild, hopefully having learned that breaking and entering is not the answer," the shelter wrote. "Just another day in the life at Hanover Animal Protection!"
