Strangers Send Man Birthday Wishes At The Exact Minute His Late Mom Used To

October 30, 2025

A Reddit user named Josh was in for an emotional surprise this year — one that reminded him just how kind strangers can be.

Last year, Josh shared a heartfelt post about how his late mom used to text him happy birthday at exactly 1:11 on October 29, the moment he was born. Since her passing four years ago, that cherished message never came — a small but deeply meaningful reminder of her love that he missed dearly.

What he didn’t know was that many Reddit users saw his post and quietly decided to do something beautiful.

They set reminders for the following year.

And this year, right at 1:11, Josh’s inbox was flooded with birthday messages from people all over the internet — each one wishing him a happy birthday at the exact minute his mom used to.

Josh wrote,

“Last year I made a post here about how my Mom used to always text me at 1:11 on 10/29 to wish me happy birthday, and that losing her 4 years ago meant I wouldn't get them anymore, which sucks... This morning I woke up to an inbox full of birthday wishes from folks who apparently set reminders.”

He also shared a screenshot of his messages — dozens of kind notes from complete strangers who remembered his story.

It’s one of those rare, tear-jerking moments that shows how powerful a small act of kindness can be.

Because sometimes, love finds a way — even through the internet.
