It Began With One Matching Batman Shirt Photo. 11 Years Later, They’re Still Doing It

For more than a decade, Nick Tomasso and his son have shared a special father-son tradition that’s captured hearts online — and it all revolves around their favorite superhero.

Eleven years ago, when his son was born, Tomasso snapped their first photo together wearing matching Batman T-shirts.
What started as a fun moment has since become an annual ritual that the pair proudly continue every year.

“I wanted to share one of my favorite traditions with my son: our annual ‘Batman’ picture,” Tomasso wrote in a Reddit post. “We’ve been doing this since he was born (although I didn’t realize it was a ‘thing’ until year 3).”
Now that his son is 11, the duo continues to strike the same heroic pose year after year — always dressed in their signature Batman shirts.

Tomasso said he plans to keep the tradition alive for as long as possible and tries to take the photo every September 20th, which happens to be Batman Day, celebrated since 2014 to honor the Dark Knight’s 75th anniversary.
