But then came the squirrel.

You could almost hear the internet collectively nodding.
Of course it was the squirrel. Mischievous, clever, always up to something.
And just as viewers were ready to declare the case closed...

The post has everyone cracking up, especially those who prematurely judged the poor squirrel.
"I owe the squirrel an apology for assuming the worst without considering all of the evidence first!" one commenter wrote.

"Hahahaha I thought I had it at #4 and #5, "WTF" @ #6 and OMG #7," another commenter shared.
The owner also helpfully identified each animal caught on camera:
1. Anna’s hummingbird (Calypte anna)
2. Black-headed grosbeak (Pheucticus melanocephalus)
3. Steller’s jay (Cyanocitta stelleri. Noisy jerks, but I love them)
4. Band-tailed pigeon (Patagioenas fasciata)
5. Western grey squirrel
6. Black bear
Moral of the story? Don’t jump to conclusions.
