Outdoor Cats Are Using $500 Starlink Satellite Dishes As Cozy Heated Beds

February 6, 2025

Elon Musk’s Starlink satellite dishes were designed to bring high-speed internet to remote areas, but it seems they’ve found an unexpected secondary use—luxury heated cat beds!

Thanks to their built-in warming feature that prevents snow buildup, these $500 dishes have become prime real estate for outdoor cats looking to stay warm in the winter.

X user Aaron Taylor recently shared a photo that left the internet in stitches: five cats huddled together on his Starlink dish, soaking up the warmth like it was a feline spa.

While the dish still functioned, Taylor noted that his internet slowed down due to the furry interference.

“Starlink works great until the cats find out that the dish gives off a little heat on cold days,” he joked.

The internet, of course, wasted no time in responding with witty comments.

“They’re not using that Starlink dish as a bed, they’re using it to contact the mothership,” one user quipped.

Another chimed in, “I see your connection has a Cat 5 error code.”

Taylor said he plans to relocate his dish to higher ground to prevent future cat takeovers, but let’s be honest—these clever kitties will probably just find another way to claim their spot. After all, when it comes to warmth, comfort, and a little bit of mischief, cats always find a way.
