Maddy, Toby and Josh, known as the "Professional Idiots" on TikTok, transformed a 17-year-old double-decker bus into a cozy and functional mobile café for their friend, barista Luke Derbyshire.

"Luke is just such a talented guy," said Toby. "When he told us he wanted to start his own business and run a coffee cart, we knew we could do something to help."

The trio purchased the old bus and got to work.

The renovation was no small task. The first step was clearing out the old bus. They stripped away the old chairs, clearing the space to make room for what would become a bustling mobile coffee shop.

Once the bus was cleared, the real transformation began. They spent countless hours sanding and painting every surface to give it a fresh, welcoming look. The weathered bus required patching up a number of holes.

They also took the time to replace the old lighting, replacing it with energy-efficient LED strips that would not only brighten up the space but also make it more sustainable. They also covered the roof with solar panels.

They built custom tables to perfectly fit the space, added wood paneling to the ceiling for a cozy, rustic feel, and laid down sleek Pukka flooring that tied the entire design together.

Once the design work was complete, the next step was ensuring the space was fully functional. They focused on installing a working kitchen and sink, making sure everything was set up for brewing coffee and serving customers efficiently.

The journey was fully documented on their TikTok channel, with months of videos capturing every step of the transformation process.
