Toronto Cat Tour Goes Viral: A Purrfect Event For Cat Lovers
October 4, 2024
What started as a fun idea inspired by a TikTok video has turned into a viral sensation—the Toronto Cat Tour!
Organized by one person, Natalie Czerwinski, this quirky event took place on September 8 and had cat lovers parading through the city streets, visiting the friendliest felines Toronto had to offer.

Natalie, who saw a similar event in Minneapolis, decided to bring the idea to life in her hometown.
"I had a very small budget (spent about $100 of my own money on materials). I made an IG [@cattourto], set up some Google Forms, and made it happen!" she explained.
With a little creativity and a lot of love for cats, the Toronto Cat Tour was born.

The two-hour tour featured 21 planned feline stops, but to everyone's delight, six extra "surprise cats" popped up along the way to greet the crowd.

It was a fun and lighthearted community event that not only brought smiles to participants but also helped raise $400 for Toronto Cat Rescue.

Photos and videos from the event, which went viral on TikTok, show participants with cat-themed signs and outfits, meeting Toronto’s friendliest felines.

The images are filled with goofy, heartwarming moments of cats and their fans, proving that sometimes the simplest ideas can bring a community together—and bring joy to thousands online.

Natalie's advice for anyone looking to organize a Cat Tour in their own city?
"All you need to make a Cat Tour happen in your city is an internet connection and the desire for it to happen. That’s literally it."
