Ker says she's known "Taco Thomas" for 12 years, and would pick up food from him multiple times a week. So when she stopped showing up due to a brief medical ailment in 2018, he called her to check on her.

Ker said they had each other's phone numbers because she's been a long-time customer and wanted to be able to "figure out where he's at" -- since he operates a mobile restaurant.

After her video of the voicemail went viral on TikTok, many people wanted to donate to Taco Thomas. She raised $350 but stopped because Thomas did not want donations.
