A Complete Replica Of Ancient Rome, 36 Years In The Making

Italian archaeologist Italo Gismondi built a beautiful replica of Ancient Rome -- a project that took him 36 years to complete.

Between 1935 and 1971, Gismondi worked to execute the famed model of Rome named "Plastico di Roma Imperiale" which is now on display at the Museo della Civiltà Romana.
The model, built on a scale of 1:250 (55 feet by 55 feet), is intended to represent the city of Rome at the time of Emperor Constantine (fourth century AD).
