This is what mom Kate V. wrote on Next Door:
"My daughter McKinley was born with kidneys that didn't develop properly and she has endured a lot in her two years of life!
She was sick with yet another kidney infection on Halloween and missed out on trick-or-treating.
A week later, when she was feeling better, I posted on our neighborhood Nextdoor page and asked if there was anyone on our street who would be up for a belated trick-or-treater.
To our amazement, over TWENTY families in our neighborhood responded and gave us a night we will never forget!
McKinley put on her bunny costume and we spent almost two hours visiting each family that had responded.
They filled her basket with candy and gifts, and some kids even put their Halloween costumes back on for her!
We will be talking about this night for years to come, and we are so thankful for the loving community that we are blessed to be a part of!
Thank you Nextdoor for making this sweet memory possible!"
