There's A Curly-Haired Horse Breed That's Almost Too Cute To Exist
June 29, 2016
Have you ever seen a curly haired horse?
This breed is literally called a Curly and they come in all sizes, colors, and body types but all carry a gene for a unique curly coat of hair.
Curlies are considered "hypoallergenic" because of their lack of a protein in their hair that can cause allergic reactions in some people.
Their thick coats protect them in colder environments and in winter.
Though their origin is debated, Curlies been around for a long time. They have been featured in Chinese artwork as far back as 161 AD, and Charles Darwin documented them in South America in the 19th century
Regardless of where these horses originated, they are absolutely stunning.
