She Asked Her Doctor To Take A Video During Her Open Heart Surgery. This Is Amazing!
September 29, 2016
Warning: This is a video of open heart surgery and may not be appropriate for everyone/work.
"I am a 30-year-old female and I had this surgery done because I had an aortic aneurysm. I've been diagnosed with Marfan syndrome, part of the workup for that was an echocardiogram that originally found the aneurysm. After 6 months it had grown to an unsafe size so I was sent to the surgeon. I'm a super healthy person, and this in fact did not happen because I am fat haha. I'm 5'11 and 139 lbs, never smoked in my life, and get teased for how healthy I eat and how often I work out. I just have crappy connective tissue so it decided to balloon out!
I'm 10 days out of surgery now and recovering really well, I appreciate all the kind wishes!! I'm allowed to walk for exercise but I can't lift anything over 10 lbs, twist, or do anything else that would put stress on my sternum (that is held together by wires until it fuses back together)."
This is so cool!
